1.1 Information You Provide

We collect information you choose to give us when you:

• Contact Us: your name, email address, subject and message. The form also records the page you were on and the time you sent it.
• Subscribe to the Newsletter: your email address.
• Use Calculators: the figures you type in (miles driven, electricity rates and so on) are processed in your browser and are not sent to us or stored. Some calculators can create a share link that puts your inputs in the web address; nothing is sent to us unless you share that link yourself.

2. How We Use Your Information

2.1 Primary Uses

• Communication: reply to your messages.
• Newsletter: if you subscribe, send you EV news and updates.
• Website Improvement: look at aggregated usage patterns to decide what to build and fix.
• Security: keep the site running and protect it from abuse.

2.2 Legal Basis (GDPR and similar laws)

• Consent: newsletter subscriptions. You can withdraw consent at any time.
• Legitimate Interest: replying to your messages, website analytics and security. Where local law requires your consent for analytics, you can opt out as described in section 6.

3. Information Sharing and Disclosure

3.1 Service Providers

We use these providers to run the website. Each handles data under its own privacy policy:

• Formspree: processes contact-form and newsletter submissions and passes them to us (formspree.io/legal/privacy-policy).
• Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager: website analytics (policies.google.com/privacy).
• Hosting provider: serves the website and keeps server logs.
• Map and data services for the charging map: OpenStreetMap (map tiles and the Nominatim address search), Open Charge Map (charging-station data) and Cloudflare cdnjs (the map software). See section 7.

We do not currently use a separate email-delivery service. If we start using one for the newsletter, we will name it here.

3.2 Affiliate Partners

Some links on this site may be affiliate links to retailers or manufacturers. If you click one, that partner can set its own cookies and learn that you arrived from our site. We typically see only summary or order-level reports, not your name or payment details. Our Disclaimer explains how we are compensated. The partner's own privacy policy governs what happens once you are on its site.

3.3 Legal Requirements

We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or to protect our rights and safety.

We do not set any other cookies ourselves. Third parties may set their own cookies when you use their services, for example Formspree when you submit a form, or an affiliate partner if you click one of its links.

6.2 Managing Cookies and Opting Out

You can control cookies through your browser settings, and you can opt out of Google Analytics on all websites with Google's browser add-on. You can also block analytics scripts with a content blocker. The site works normally if you do.

7. Charging Map and Location

The charging map finds public charging stations. Here is exactly what it sends, and to whom:

• If you type a city, ZIP code or address, that text is sent to OpenStreetMap's Nominatim service to turn it into coordinates.
• The coordinates are then sent to Open Charge Map to fetch nearby stations.
• If you click the button to use your location, your browser asks for permission first. If you agree, your coordinates are used in the same way. We do not receive them.
• The map loads its tiles from OpenStreetMap and its software from Cloudflare cdnjs, so those services can see your IP address and browser details, as any website you load would.
• We do not store your searches or your location. Our analytics record only that a search happened and how many stations it returned, not the place you searched for.

8. Third-Party Links

Our website contains links to third-party websites (EV manufacturers, dealers, charging networks, government programs). This privacy policy does not apply to those sites. We encourage you to review their privacy policies.

9. Children's Privacy

Our website is not intended for children under 13, or under the minimum age set by the law where you live. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have collected information from a child, please contact us and we will delete it.

10. International Users

Our hosting and service providers, including Google and Formspree, may process data in the United States and other countries, which may have different privacy laws than yours. By using the site or sending us a message you understand this.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy to reflect changes in our practices or legal requirements. When we do, we will post the updated policy on this page and change the "Last Updated" date above. If the change is significant and we have your email address because you subscribed, we will tell you by email.

12. California Privacy Rights (CCPA)

California residents have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act:

• Right to know what personal information is collected
• Right to delete personal information
• Right to opt out of the sale of personal information (we do not sell personal information)
• Right to non-discrimination for exercising privacy rights

13. European Users (GDPR) and UK Users

If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you have the rights listed in section 5, and the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

14. Thailand Users (PDPA)

If you are in Thailand, you have rights under the Personal Data Protection Act B.E. 2562 (2019), including the rights to access, correct, delete and object to the use of your personal data, to withdraw consent, and to complain to the Personal Data Protection Committee.
