Home vs public charging: which actually costs less?

How this is priced. State electricity rates are EIA averages for June 2026 (released 26 Aug 2026) โ€” your own bill is the number that matters, so change it. Public network prices are dated national averages that move monthly and by site; use them for planning, then check the network's app for the actual quote before you charge. The federal home-charger credit (Section 30C) expired for any installation placed in service after 30 June 2026, so it is not included here.
